CAF Awards 2023: Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala Eulogises Africa as She Wins Best Women African Player for 6th Time

Nigeria’s most celebrated female player, Asisat Oshoala that plays for the Nigeria’s female national team – The Super Falcons and the FC Barcelona Football Club in Spain has showered eulogies on Africa, describing it as beautiful and amazing as she won the “Player of Year” in the women category at this year’s CAF Awards.

On her Instagram handle she wrote:

Thank you once again my AFRICA (with love emoji) my beautiful and amazing continent”.

She went further to extend appreciations, saying “l wouldn’t have achieved this without my friends, team mates (club, country, family, agency….”

On this last comment, she gave some words of encouragement to Africans not to relent in celebrating ourselves that, it can only be done by us.

Like l said yesterday, let’s keep celebrating ourselves, Nobody will do it for us…. Let’s keep putting our great continent in the best positions. Appreciate your own”, Oshoala said.

This is the 6th time she will be receiving the most coveted CAF Awards as the “Player of the Year” (Women) on the continent beating other contestants.

Aside football, Oshoala also gives back to the African communities through her charity organization, having seen the challenges they face across the continent.

She believes in restoring confidence and hope to Africans, especially the youths and women, therefore making herself the best example for others to follow.
